Archive Delete Archive the Palm record. Delete the PC Record. Time & Chaos has its own method of archiving which should be used instead. If Palm record is archived, it is deleted from PC and from Palm device.
Archive with no modify Modify Instead of archiving the Palm record, replace the Palm record with the PC record. Message is sent to log. Palm record is replaced with the PC record but log is simply notified that the transfer of records was successful. (Note: Any archiving should instead be done in Time & Chaos itself, not through the Palm device.)
Archive after modify Modify If records are identical, archive the Palm record and delete the record from the PC. The Palm record is removed (due to choice to archive), but the PC record, having been modified, is added back to the Palm device, so that it exists on both the Palm and the PC. The log is simply notified that the transfer of records was successful. (Note: Any archiving should instead be done in Time & Chaos itself, not through the Palm.)
Archive after modify Modify If changes are different, do not archive the Palm record. Add the Palm record to the PC and add the PC record to the Palm. Message is sent to log Since archive was chosen, the Palm record is deleted. The PC record, having been modified, is added back to the Palm, so that the PC record now exists on both the Palm and the PC. The log is simply notified that the transfer of records was successful. (Note: Any archiving should instead be done in Time & Chaos itself, not through the Palm.)
various Archive various Time & Chaos' archive function works differently, so this is not applicable. An archived record in Time & Chaos exists in archive and in the database at the same time. After archiving, the user can then delete the record from Time & Chaos and the rules then follow the normal delete from PC logic.

Special Notes

If you wish to set any particular directional preferences (bi-directional or one way settings), you can go to the Custom option in HotSync to set your preference accordingly.

If you intend to synchronize your Palm Pilot with more than one computer (such as a home and a work machine), you must go to the Plug-ins menu in Time & Chaos and select ChaosSync in order to select the option for multi-machine support. Please keep in mind that you must select this option on BOTH machines for ChaosSync to transfer all of your data successfully.

Should you have one PC with the Palm Computing Platform cradle, but desire to have more than one user synchronize with their own Palm, then it is important to note how Time & Chaos handles this multi-user scenario.  If each person has their own separate Time & Chaos database, you will need to let ChaosSync know where to find each of them. At the top of the Time & Chaos screen, you can go to Plug-Ins, then to ChaosSync, then click the advanced button. From this area, you can change the database locations on a user by user basis pointing each person to their appropriate location.  Now when each user syncs, the ChaosSync for the Palm Computing® Platform with work with the newly specified database.  (If each palm user want to sync with the same Time & Chaos database, you don't need to do anything - that will work automatically!)

If you wish to archive records in Time & Chaos, you should search for the records you wish to archive in the Search and Report Screen, then go to File, Create, Transportable Record to build the "archive" file.  Store this file in a different directory than where your Time & Chaos data is located.  Once successfully built, you may now delete these same records via the search and report screen.  The next time you synchronize with the Palm device, the records will be deleted from the Palm device as well.
